1. Overview

HLS Video Converter ("the Service") respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects our users to do the same. In accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act of 1998 ("DMCA"), we will respond to notices of alleged copyright infringement that comply with the DMCA and other applicable laws.

If you believe that your copyrighted work has been copied in a way that constitutes copyright infringement and is accessible on our Service, please follow the procedures outlined below.

2. DMCA Takedown Notice Requirements

To be effective, a notification of claimed infringement must be a written communication to our designated agent that includes the following:

  1. Physical or Electronic Signature: A physical or electronic signature of a person authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
  2. Identification of Copyrighted Work: Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed, or if multiple works are covered by a single notification, a representative list of such works.
  3. Identification of Infringing Material: Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing or to be the subject of infringing activity and that is to be removed or access to which is to be disabled, and information reasonably sufficient to permit us to locate the material (e.g., URL links).
  4. Contact Information: Information reasonably sufficient to permit us to contact you, such as an address, telephone number, and email address.
  5. Good Faith Statement: A statement that you have a good faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  6. Accuracy Statement: A statement that the information in the notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.

Please note that under Section 512(f) of the DMCA, any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing may be subject to liability for damages.

4. Counter-Notification

If you believe that your content was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification, you may file a counter-notification with us. A valid counter-notification must include:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. Identification of the material that has been removed or to which access has been disabled, and the location at which the material appeared before it was removed or access was disabled.
  3. A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification.
  4. Your name, address, telephone number, and email address.
  5. A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the judicial district in which your address is located, or if your address is outside the United States, for any judicial district in which we may be found.
  6. A statement that you will accept service of process from the person who provided the original notification or an agent of such person.

5. Process After Counter-Notification

Upon receipt of a valid counter-notification, we will:

  1. Promptly provide the complaining party with a copy of the counter-notification.
  2. Inform the complaining party that we will replace the removed material or cease disabling access to it in 10 business days.
  3. Replace the removed material or cease disabling access to it not less than 10, nor more than 14, business days following receipt of the counter-notification, unless our designated agent receives notice from the complaining party that a court action has been filed.

6. Repeat Infringers

In accordance with the DMCA, we have adopted a policy of terminating, in appropriate circumstances, users who are deemed to be repeat infringers. We may also, at our sole discretion, limit access to our Service and/or terminate the accounts of any users who infringe any intellectual property rights of others, whether or not there is any repeat infringement.

The following may result in account termination:

  • Receiving multiple valid DMCA notices
  • Patterns of uploading infringing content
  • Failure to remove infringing content after notification
  • Circumventing our copyright protection measures

7. Modifications

We reserve the right to modify, alter, or update this DMCA Policy at any time. We will post the modified policy on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the Service after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
